Dakota Thunder

Today was a great day! The Dakota Thunder Airshow is going on this weekend and so the boys and I packed up diapers, wipes, snacks, hats, shades, blanket, chair, double stroller, camera, sippy cup, sunscreen, rattles, teethers and oh..did I mention the kitchen sink! Our adventure started out this morning at about 9:15 loading the car. When Sean's not home, a few hundred trips up and down the stairs are required to the car to load everyone/everything up. I followed my neighbor Jessica and her baby out to the base, thinking, "We'll have no problem scooting right into base since we get 'special' military treatment." Yeah, right! Let's just say, we finally got to a place of rest an hour and a half later! As a nursing mother, this was a bit of a problem. I will say we were given military access to enter the base via a non-public gate, but after that, it was lines for parking, long lines for security checks. Well worth it however! There were two B1's on static display and with all the guys in their flight suits, instantly Zane started chiming, "DADDY! DADDY!" He misses him so much and it's only been two weeks. I can't imagine what it will be like for 6 months! The highlights of the day were the "Bad to the Bone B1" flyby, the mighty Thunderbirds and me still trying to figure out how to go to the bathroom with a double stroller in tow! I must look ridiculous!

New Recruit

I've been wanting to start a blog for awhile now, but wasn't sure what "blogging" was all about, especially just for me, the family and my daily life. I still think to myself, "Who really wants to read such boring, everyday events?" Well, after much consideration and a little bit of late night blog reading, I decided to give it a whirl. What the heck, right? I am just a novice and am anxious to discover all the "cool" things you can add to your blog site..I must admit, I am one of those people who just has to have things looking "just so" before showcasing to the public eye. The military lifestyle has kept us from family and friends for quite some time now, so I thought this would also be a way to keep everyone updated. I know this will make some of my email recipients very happy since I'm constantly taking up their memory space with millions of pictures of our two boys. (Yes, I'm also one of those people who thinks EVERYONE wants to see the latest and cutest pictures of my kids! ) By starting a blog, family and friends can keep up with "Team Jackson" if they choose and I can stop sending endless emails. Who am I kidding..I'll probably still send the emails! I would like to think that my husband Sean would also use this venue to stay touch when he deploys..we'll just have to see.
